Reinvigorating China Outbound, Revitalising China Inbound: COITM China Outbound & Inbound Travel Market to Launch in Beijing, 14–16 October, 2026
The China Tourism Academy announced in March 2025 that Chinese citizens made 146 million outbound trips in 2024, while 131 million inbound visitors arrived in China—a year-on-year increase of 60.8%. More recently, statistics released by the National Immigration Administration in July 2025 showed that in the first half of 2025:
· Mainland residents made 159 million cross-border trips (+15.9% year-on-year),
· Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents made 136 million trips (+12.2%), and
· Foreign nationals made 38.05 million trips (+30.2%).
These figures highlight the steady growth and rapid recovery of China’s inbound and outbound travel markets.
As the Tao Te Ching states: “Dao gives birth to one, one gives birth to two, two gives birth to three, and three gives birth to all things.” At this crucial moment in the recovery of global tourism, with the support from China Tourism Academy, U-tour Group, HCG Travel Group, a number of overseas tourism boards and travel trade professionals, and in response to new demands in China’s travel industry, the team with 20 years of expertise in China’s outbound tourism exhibitions is proud to launch a new brand: COITM-China Outbound & Inbound Travel Market.
A New Platform for Two-Way Tourism
COITM is positioned as a high-quality annual B2B cooperation platform:
· Connecting overseas tourism resource suppliers with Chinese outbound travel operators and MICE buyers, and
· Enabling Chinese tourism resource providers to promote inbound tourism and partner with overseas agencies.
The first COITM will take place 14–16 October, 2026 at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center (New Hall, Hall 11), Beijing, under the theme “Reinvigorating China Outbound, Revitalising China Inbound.”
It is expected to welcome 300 exhibitors and 4,000 tourism professionals from across the globe, including: national and regional tourism boards, embassies, consulates, DMCs, attractions, ground service providers, airlines, hotel groups, technology companies, and digital marketing platforms from more than 50 countries, alongside Chinese destination providers and inbound operators.
Twenty Years of Expertise, A Fresh Start
For two decades, the COITM team has built the most influential B2B exhibition platform in China’s outbound tourism sector, serving thousands of global enterprises and helping them navigate the Chinese market.
Today, with China’s entry-exit policies being continuously optimized and market structures transforming, COITM embraces a new “dual drive” strategy—outbound and inbound—consolidating its outbound strengths while expanding deeply into inbound tourism.
New Positioning: Building a Two-Way Travel Ecosystem
Inbound–Outbound Dual Drive
· Outbound: Showcasing international tourism boards, DMCs, inbound operators, airlines, hotel groups, and technology providers.
· Inbound: Helping Chinese destinations, attractions, and agencies establish direct cooperation with overseas buyers.
Pre-Scheduled Meetings
A professional appointment system will match buyers and sellers in advance, ensuring highly efficient on-site business negotiations.
Marketing Empowerment
Beyond the exhibition, COITM will offer integrated marketing solutions including social media promotion and offline roadshows—helping overseas partners reach Chinese outbound operators and MICE buyers more effectively.
Conference & Forum
Running alongside the exhibition, forums will cover four key themes: China Outbound Travel, China Inbound Travel, Tourism Technology, and Outbound Tourism Investment.
Strong Industry Support at Home and Abroad
Since its inception, COITM has received widespread support from Chinese and international tourism organisations.
· Mr. Ma, Vice President of the China Tourism Academy, expressed hope that “the exhibition will help every exhibitor break through business boundaries.”
· Mr. Feng Bin, Chairman of Utour Group Co., Ltd., emphasized the importance of building COITM into a “high-quality B2B platform connecting global resources with Chinese operators, while promoting greater international cooperation.”
· Mr. He Yong, President of HCG Travel Group, added that COITM will “inject new momentum into China’s outbound tourism industry.”
· Mr. Pierre Gervois, French artist, documentary producer, and adjunct professor at New York University, welcomed COITM as a way to attract “international cultural travellers eager to explore China’s rich arts and heritage.”
International institutions including the Russian National Centre for Tourism Development, the Tunisian Tourism Board, and the Belarusian Tourism Board have already expressed their strong support and willingness to exhibit, demonstrating strong global confidence in China’s tourism recovery.
Practicing Industry Responsibility
Ms. Qing Qinghui, founder of COITM, stated:
“I am deeply grateful for the strong support of professionals across the tourism industry. At this time of full recovery for China’s inbound and outbound travel markets, COITM will uphold the principle of ‘seeking to establish oneself while establishing others’ (Analects of Confucius). We will create cooperation opportunities for both international and Chinese partners, foster an upgraded industry ecosystem, and drive tourism toward greater diversity, personalization, and sustainability—delivering continuous value through insights, matchmaking, and innovation.”
