China's vast outbound travel market is set for further growth in 2026, boosted by the spread of visa-free policies for Chinese nationals and a stronger Chinese currency. A recent industry report predicts that in 2026 the number of outbound trips for Chinese mainland travellers is expected to increase to 165 million, up from an estimated 155 million in 2025.
It is well known that China's inbound travel and tourism market witnessed a tremendous increase in 2025. According to data from the National Immigration Administration, in the third quarter, the number of foreign nationals entering China was 20.134 million, an increase of 22.3% year-over-year. Among them, those entering through the visa-free policy totalled 7.246 million, accounting for 72.2% of total foreign entrants, and up 48.3% year-over-year.
Against the backdrop of this strong market rebound, grasping trends and connecting with resources is crucial.
